The Citizen Soldier, "Minuteman" or the much maligned "Militia" – this was the backbone of the nation's defense as politicians and military leaders struggled with how large the new repulic's army should be.
While leaders debated the need for levies of troops what was known as the Northwest territories (Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Missouri , Wisconsin), it was the men who cleared the land and built the forts that would hear the call.
Kentucky was barely an entity but had at its core the self-made adventurer and free-spirited indiviualist who would not wait for proclamations. Instead, they joined up in great numbers and waded across vast stretches of territory to confront and challenge the British empire and untold native combatants in the nation's second War of Indendence.
As our nation approches the bicentennial of the War of 1812, the recontituted ranks of Captain Uriel Sebree's Co., Scott's Regiment, Kentucky Militia would like to welcome you to one of the scrapiest, hard drinkin' , hard fighin' " units in the 1812 living history community. Feel free to hit the "Contact Us " button on our website for a Adobe® PDF brochure about Capt. Sebree's Co. as well as our other unit "Gun crew Corvette Wolfe".
